[1:39] Difficultades. But God has given you a beautiful inheritance. Pero el Señor nos ha dado una herencia hermosa. You are here because of the mercies of God.

[2:44] Let me read from Romans chapter 12, the first five verses. Voy a estar leyendo en Romanos 12, los primeros cinco versículos. I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

[3:07] Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

[3:21] For by the grace given to me, I say to everyone among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

[3:36] For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individual members one of another.

[3:49] So, brothers, I pray for the mercy of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and holy, and acceptable to God, that is your rational cult. Do not conform you to this century, but transform you through the renewal of your understanding, so that you can prove what is the good will of God, and acceptable and perfect.

[4:12] I say, for the grace that is given to me, to each one that is among you, that does not have the highest concept of God, and the one that has to have, but think of yourself with courage, conforme to the measure of faith that God has shared to each one.

[4:26] Because of the way that in a body we have a lot of members, but not all members have the same function, so we are, as many as we are a body in Christ, y todos miembros los unos de los otros.

[4:42] Let's pray together. Father, we thank you for your mercies towards us. Give us eyes to see today more of those mercies.

[4:59] Lord, help us to see the wonder of the position you've put us in. And help our response to the gospel be one of serving one another.

[5:17] Father, we need your strength and your spirit. We ask that you would bless us in Jesus' name. Amen. If you've read the book of Romans before, you know that the first 11 chapters, Paul lays out the gospel.

[5:37] After an introduction, he shows us our sin and our rebellion.

[5:53] He goes on at length to show us the provision of grace and the salvation through the work of Christ. He continues in showing us that our sins have been paid for, but he also shows us that he's provided for our deliverance from the power of sin.

[6:15] He continues diciendo que ya han sido pagados nuestros pecados y que él ha provisto para nuestros pecados. He shows us that we will most certainly be made like Christ and that nothing will separate us from him for all eternity.

[6:49] As he has explained this, Paul himself is moved. Como él ha explicado, él es movido, el apóstol Pablo. Thinking back through what he's explained, he's moved to worship.

[8:05] Amén. He has seen the mercies of God. He has seen that man is dead and helpless in his own and can't do anything on his own.

[8:17] Que el hombre está muerto en sus pecados y no puede hacer nada por sí mismo. God, in his abundant mercy, provides for man everything needed for redemption.

[8:28] Dios, en su abundante misericordia, ha provisto todo lo que el hombre necesita por su misericordia. Paul has been overwhelmed because we have been redeemed by the unspeakable mercies of God.

[8:41] Él es sobrecogido porque hemos sido redimidos por la indescritible misericordia y gracias de Dios. Paul recognizes that God deserves all the glory. Y Pablo reconoce que Dios merece toda la gloria.

[8:52] God owes no one anything. We owe God everything. Dios no le debe nada a nadie. Nosotros debemos a Dios todo. And seeing the mercies of God, Paul goes on to explain how God calls us to react based on that mercy.

[9:28] Dios nos manda siempre a obrar conforme a lo que él ha provisto en su gracia. Paul gave the foundation of the gospel in the first two chapters of the book of Colossians.

[10:42] And here, just before what we've read, Paul gave the foundation of the gospel in Romans 1 through 11. Y así como ya lo hemos leído, el apóstol da el fundamento del evangelio en Romanos 12, 1.

[10:54] And in the first verse of chapter 12, calls us to action based on that gospel. Y nos llama a la acción basado en el evangelio. And all of Romans 12 through 16 are actions that we're called to do based on the gospel.

[11:37] Our life and our service are always to be a reaction to the abundant mercies of God.

[11:53] We don't do anything to earn salvation. God has done it all. We respond in worship with a living sacrifice to Him.

[12:07] We respond in adoración as sacrifices vivos. So, Christian, everything you do should reflect your thankfulness for the mercies of God towards you. Cristiano, todo lo que tú haces debe ser un reflejo de tu agradecimiento a todas las cosas que Dios ha hecho por ti.

[12:23] Living for Christ is the appropriate reaction to the mercies of God. Living for Christ is the appropriate response to the mercies of God. Since God has provided salvation based on His mercy, He has placed us in a body and we are to serve in the body of Christ, the church.

[13:26] A body is a unit made up of many inseparable parts. El cuerpo es una unidad hecha de distintas partes juntas. Our body is made of our head, our torso, our limbs, and our organs.

[13:56] And it is made of individuals. But it's made to operate together. God has made us Grace Fellowship Church.

[14:08] Dios nos ha hecho la iglesia de Grace Fellowship. He has brought those of you who know Christ as Savior together to be part of this body. Él les ha traído a ustedes que son parte del cuerpo de Cristo para que sean parte de un cuerpo aquí en la iglesia.

[14:21] We are a body made up of many inseparable parts. Somos un cuerpo hecho de partes inseparables. And each part has its own responsibility to the local body of believers.

[14:33] This is something that God did because of his mercy towards us. This is not something we earned or thought would be a good idea.

[14:52] No man came up with the idea of church. God instituted it. Dios la instituyó. And when you come to know Christ, he puts you within that body to serve one another.

[15:07] Cuando ustedes vienen a Cristo, el Señor los coloca en ese cuerpo particular para que le sirvan a él. Como un cuerpo. We need each other. Nos necesitamos los unos a los otros. God designed and equipped us to meet the needs of the body's body by serving one another.

[15:57] A group that needs every other part. Un grupo que se necesitan el uno al otro. It takes the serving of all of us, serving one another to make a local healthy body.

[16:10] Esto requiere que todos nos sirvamos los unos a los otros para tener un cuerpo saludable. And God puts us in this body again because of his mercies. Y de nuevo, Dios nos puso en este cuerpo por sus misericordias.

[16:23] Now, he takes the rest of the book of Romans to talk about some of those things. Él toma esa porción de la epístola de los romanos para hablar de todas estas cosas. And I'm not going to exegete everything, but I will give a list of some of the things he talks about.

[17:40] He puts us in a body that we might rejoice together in hope. También nos puso en un cuerpo para que nos regocijemos en esperanza. He puts us in a body that we might help each other by his spirit through tribulation.

[18:30] It amazes me how when I think by myself, how I can get messed up in my thinking. Cuando yo pienso acerca, cuando yo estoy solo, ¿qué sería de mí si estaría solo?

[18:44] I'm so thankful for brothers and sisters who, when I'm discouraged or confused, come alongside and say, Brother, remember the promise. Yo me alegro cuando yo estoy en estas circunstancias solo y desanimado y vienen hermanos o hermanas y me ayudan a animarme para seguir adelante en el camino.

[19:01] Or brother, remember your responsibility. O para acordarnos nuestras responsabilidades. Or be encouraged to remember where we're going. O recordarnos, acuérdense hacia donde vamos.

[19:13] God put us in a body to help each other serve the Lord. El Señor nos ha puesto en un cuerpo para ayudarnos los unos a los otros a servirle al Señor.

[19:24] Now there's also the aspect of God put us in a body to glorify himself. También Dios nos ha puesto otro aspecto en el cuerpo para glorificarlo a él. And for us to share the gospel.

[19:35] Y para compartir el evangelio. But God put us together that we might help each other and complete the work of Christ. Dios nos ha puesto aquí juntos para que trabajemos juntos y así completar la obra del evangelio.

[19:52] It's interesting in this passage that Paul presents this not as something we choose to do. Es bueno que el presente aquí no es algo como que nosotros escogimos hacer.

[20:04] This is something God has assumed we would do. Sino que es algo que Dios asume que nosotros vamos a hacer. God didn't or man didn't think up the idea of church as I mentioned.

[21:04] And as I mentioned this passage and others assume that Christians will serve in a local body. Como este pasaje assume está estipulado de que vamos a ser parte de un cuerpo.

[21:17] That they will covenant together in a local church to carry out the one another that we need to survive. Vamos a hacernos parte de un cuerpo en el cual no necesitamos los unos a los otros para sobrevivir.

[21:29] It's not just a good idea to watch for your brother. No solo es una buena idea que es bueno para sus hermanos. It's the responsibility God gives all of us. Es la responsabilidad que Dios nos da a cada uno de nosotros.

[21:42] And so God makes us into a body. Dios nos ha puesto en un cuerpo. It is God's ordinary plan for Christians to be known, accountable, and committed to a local body of believers.

[21:57] Es parte del plan de Dios que nosotros estemos comprometidos a un cuerpo local de creyentes, a una iglesia. And God expects his people to submit to their part in the body life because of his mercy towards us.

[22:25] If you're here and you're not sure you're going to heaven, Si tú estás aquí, ¿no estás seguro si vas al cielo? Membership in a local church is not the next step to take to make sure you're going to heaven.

[22:38] El hacerte miembro de una iglesia no es el segundo paso para que tú vayas camino al cielo. If you're afraid of dying and going to hell, your next step is not membership in the church.

[23:04] Membership is the logical, normal reaction of one who has trusted Christ. Hacerse miembro de una iglesia es la reacción a una persona que ya está en Cristo, que ha venido a Cristo.

[23:15] I'm often impressed with how many people come to me, want to be members. Yo me impresiono de tantas personas que se acercan a mí diciéndome, yo quiero hacerme miembro de la iglesia. Because they think it'll make them more pleasing to God.

[23:29] Porque ellos creen que haciendo eso van a ser más agradables a Dios. No. God is pleased with those who are trusting his son because of what his son has done.

[23:40] Dios lo que está desagradado por aquellos que han venido a Jesucristo y han confiado en él. We are gathered together as a body to help each other look to Christ and rest in Christ.

[23:51] Estamos reunidos aquí para ayudarnos a ver a Cristo, a buscar al Señor Jesucristo juntos. And so membership in a local body of believers is God's ordinary plan for his people. Ser miembro de una iglesia local es el plan ordinario de Dios para su pueblo.

[24:04] Several places in the book of Acts it says that those who were saved were added to the church. En muchos lugares del libro de los hechos de los apóstoles se le dice que muchos fueron añadidos a la iglesia.

[24:15] Those deemed outside of Christ were excluded from the church. Los que estaban fuera de Jesucristo estaban excluidos de la iglesia. And as I mentioned earlier, several passages in the New Testament, including the passage here in Roman, assume that believers function as a body for the building up of itself.

[24:38] Some people attend church like a football game. They simply attend church as a spectator or a consumer.

[24:52] Or personas que están ahí para consumir. They come looking for the best message. Ellos están buscando el mejor mensaje. Or the best music. La mejor música. Or the best youth program. O el mejor programa de jóvenes.

[25:15] If a person comes with a mentality of just being a spectator. Si las personas vienen a la iglesia simplemente para ser un espectador. That person may not be a Christian.

[25:53] Rebellion to what the Lord has ordained for all his people. El contrario a lo que Dios ha ordenado para su pueblo. If you come to church as a spectator. Si vienen a la iglesia como espectadores.

[26:05] It does mean that if you are a Christian. Eso quiere decir que si ustedes son cristianos. You are missing out on what God has given for your good and his glory. Se están perdiendo lo que Dios ha establecido para nuestro bien y para su gloria.

[26:19] God designed the body of Christ, the church. As a means by which we grow and we help others grow. Dios diseñó la iglesia y el cuerpo de Cristo como un medio para ayudarnos y crecer.

[26:30] God designed the body of Christ, the church. As a means by which we are protected from evil, error and helped in temptation. Ha diseñado la iglesia para protegernos del mal, de tentaciones y lo demás.

[26:44] So if you are a Christian, don't miss out on what God in his grace has provided for you. Life in the body that offers help and grace and strength in walking with Christ.

[27:01] La vida en el cuerpo que te ofrece fortaleza, vigor en Cristo. And over the next five weeks, we'll be looking at some of what the Bible teaches. That the life of the body is our response to God's grace.
